  • REGIONAL BASEBALL: Hawks win

     Central Hardin and LaRue County are scheduled to meet Thursday evening for the 5th Region Baseball Tournament title and a spot in next week's state tournament in Lexington.

    LaRue ran its record to 29-9 with an 11-1 win over Adair County in the first seminal game tonight.

    Central Hardin, the defending state champions, defeated Campbellsville 4-1 in the second contest.

    The region tournament is being played at Elizabethtown High's Ron Myers Field. Game time is 6:30 p.m Thursday, weather permitting.

  • Region baseball postponed

    Today's scheduled 5th Region Baseball Tournament at Elizabethtown High School has been postponed until Wednesday because of heavy midday rain.

    In the semifinals, LaRue County will face Adair County at 5:30 p.m. with defending state champion Central Hardin playing Campbellsville at 8 p.m.

    The region final now is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

    The region softball semifinals set for tonight are still on as scheduled.

  • BASEBALL: Hawks advance to Region after winning district

     The LaRue County Hawks removed a monkey from their back Monday afternoon, and now it resides with the Elizabethtown Panthers.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Hawks are District runners-up

    LaRue County’s Lady Hawks were runners-up in last week’s 18th District Softball Tournament.
    The second-seeded Ladies defeated third-seed Hart County 8-5 at home.
    Sophomore Brigitte Skaggs went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, that coming off a first-pitch solo home run in the fourth inning - her first career home run.
    The team fell 4-0 Thursday to Green County in the championship game.
    Pitcher Bethany Skaggs limited Green County to one hit. Bethany Skaggs, Brigitte Skaggs and Brittany Enlow were named to the All-Tournament team.

  • 5th Region Baseball: Hawks advance

    The LaRue County High School Hawks defeated Elizabethtown Monday 3-1 in the 5th Region Baseball Tournament.
    The Hawks play Adair County at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in E'town.

  • 5th Region Softball: Lady Hawks fall to Marion

    The Lady Hawks fell 9-0 to homestanding Marion County Monday in the 5th Region Softball Tournament.

  • BASEBALL: Regional Tournament Draw

    ELIZABETHTOWN: Elizabethtown plays host to the 5th Region baseball tournament, which gets under way Monday at 11 a.m. Opening the tournament is 18th District champ LaRue County (27-9) against 17th District runner-up and tourney host Elizabethtown (14-22).

    Bethlehem (17-19) is up next at 1:30 p.m. against 20th District runner-up Adair County (25-13). The Eagles and Indians met once this season, with Adair prevailing in a 12-inning thriller at Dean Watts Park in early April, 4-3.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Hawks play in Region Tournament Monday


    LEBANON - The long-awaited showdown between the Central Hardin Lady
    Bruins and the Green County Lady Dragons won't happen Wednesday night at
    Marion County.

    After the quarterfinal pairings for finalized at Saturday morning's 5th
    Region Softball Tournament draw meeting, the eight-team field's top two
    ranked teams drew into the same bracket for the third time in four
    years.

  • Michelle McKamey plays in State Tennis Tournament

     Michelle McKamey, a seventh grader, helped lead her Lone Oak High School team from Paducah to the KHSAA Tennis State Championship. 

    Michelle plays the #1 singles spot for the Lone Oak varsity team. They defeated Louisville Sacred Heart 3-1 in the semifinals with McKamey winning her match 6-0 6-2. Then, Lone Oak defeated Covington Notre Dame in the finals 3-2.
