  • Bowen plans to leave her mark

The Lady Hawks Volleyball team 2015 season motto is simple, “Leave Your Mark.” For senior Keeahna Bowen “leaving her mark” is off to a great start and she hopes to continue it throughout the 2015 season.

Bowen finished her summer vacation by attending a one week mission trip to Haiti before the demands of volleyball season began, and also gave her a new perspective on leadership.

  • Griffin prepared for new offence

Many of us struggle with change from time to time, whether it be a new job, a new school, or even a new boss; there is always that apprehensiveness that attaches itself to the specific change. As the LaRue County Football team has undergone a leadership change in the hiring of Tony Hatmaker, one Hawk senior in particular has completely bought in to what the head coach is providing. Hunter Griffin will be one of the Hawks six seniors expected to lead the way this season as the Hawks prepare for their season to begin next week.

  • Caudill named LCHS soccer head coach

During the past 10 years since soccer became a part of the LaRue County High School Athletic program, several transitions have taken place. From the initial co-ed team, the splitting of the boys and girls program, and to being assigned to a district by the KHSAA, the boys program was introduced to their new Head Coach last week, Dodd Caudill.

Caudill replaces Derek Bell who guided the Hawks for three seasons before being offered the John Hardin boys program in May. Caudill brings plenty of soccer experience to the still-young soccer program.

  • LaRue Athletics debuts new website

The LCHS Athletic Department is pleased to announce that a new athletic website has been launched and will feature all thirteen sports programs.

LaRue County is only 1 of 20 schools using Varsity News Network as their sole source for high school athletics. Varsity News Network is based out of Michigan and builds college-style athletic websites for high schools. More than 600 schools nationwide have signed up with VNN in the last four years.

  • LCHS players recognized

Over the last week, several Hawk baseball players, along with a Lady Hawk softball player received recognition for their outstanding accomplishments on the field.
