  • 5th Region Baseball: LaRue faces Green

Central Hardin coach Todd Thompson stated the obvious following Saturday morning’s 5th Region Baseball Tournament draw. He has been through this a time or two before, so he doesn’t get too caught up in the pairings.

“It doesn’t matter who you play, we have to come out and be at the top of our game,” Thompson said. “Everyone in the tournament is a good team and whoever you play is probably going to throw their best (pitcher). We have to be ready to play.”

  • Lady Hawks are District Champs

HORSE CAVE— Emillee Cundiff could have gotten down on herself and allowed things to snowball in Thursday’s 18th District Softball Tournament final at Caverna.

After giving up a three-run home run to Green County senior Madison Sidebottom with two outs in the bottom of the first, things could have gotten worse for the LaRue County sophomore.

    But they didn’t.

  • Lady Hawks wait another day for final (05/23)

Another day turned into yet another rain delay for the 18th District Softball Tournament.

The championship game, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday night at Caverna, was pushed back again – this time to a 1 p.m. start today between top-seeded Green County and second-seeded LaRue County – after heavy rain and storms moved through the region Wednesday afternoon.

Lady Hawks coach Aaron Howell is plenty tired of Mother Nature intervening.

  • Milby, Dragons end LaRue's streak

HORSE CAVE With a matchup looming against the pitcher who struck them out 18 times earlier this season, the LaRue County Hawks were primed for another chance.

They got the opportunity they’ve been waiting for against Green County ace Brennen Milby, but they may have been a little too excited.

  • PREP BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: LaRue, Green meet in 18th finals (05/22)

    Mother Nature wins again.

The 18th District baseball and softball tournament championship games between LaRue County and Green County were rained out Tuesday and rescheduled for 6 tonight at Caverna – that is, if Mother Nature allows it.

More rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast for today, meaning both games could get pushed back to Thursday. Because LaRue County and Green County have graduation Friday night, Lady Hawks coach Aaron Howell hopes Plan ‘A’ works out.
