  • SOFTBALL: Ladies beat Bethlehem

     LARUE COUNTY 4, BETHLEHEM 3. Freshman Presley Brown’s two-run double in the top of the first helped the visiting Lady Hawks (9-7) hold off the Banshees (11-5) for their fifth win in seven games.

    Sophomore Chasity Bryant’s RBI single in the sixth extended LaRue County’s lead to 4-0.

    Bethlehem cut it to 4-3 in its half of the sixth, but LaRue County senior Emillee Cundiff ended the comeback attempt with a strikeout. Cundiff struck out seven and gave up four hits, two walks and one earned run.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Hawks defeat Thomas Nelson

    LARUE COUNTY 4, THOMAS NELSON 1. Senior Emillee Cundiff struck out 12 of the 29 hitters she faced as the visiting Lady Hawks (8-7) beat the Lady Generals (9-8).

    Cundiff scattered two hits, one walk and one earned run in a complete game.

    Senior Jill Hughes went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple, while freshman Presley Brown added an RBI double.

  • BASEBALL: Boley throws one-hitter

    LARUE COUNTY 3, GREEN COUNTY 1. Freshman right-hander Jaxon Boley threw a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 10, as the visiting Hawks knocked off 18th District rival Green County.

    Boley, who walked three, allowed only a fourth-inning double to Green County senior Levi Murphy.

    Sophomore Matheo Lynn had an RBI single for the Hawks (13-5, 1-0 district), who won their seventh straight. Sophomore Cameron Dawson singled and scored twice.

  • Lady Hawks down Nelson, 4-0

    Emillee Cundiff came through for LaRue County in the circle and at the plate April 16 in the Lady Hawks’ 4-0 win at 5th Region rival Nelson County.
    Cundiff struck out nine and allowed a pair of singles in her complete-game shutout. She was 1-for-3 with a double for the game’s lone extra-base hit.    
    Presley Brown, Chasity Bryant and Kaitlyn Warnshuis each had one hit and one run. Shakeya Washington had one hit and one RBI.    
    Loss to Campbellsville
    The Lady Hawks lost Friday to Campbellsville, 5-4.

  • LaRue wins three at Saving Second Base

    The LaRue County High School Hawks went unbeaten in the Marion County Saving Second Base invitational over the weekend.
    LaRue County beat Washington County, 4-3 and Allen County-Scottsville, 10-0 on Saturday, and topped Marion County, 5-2 on Friday.
    The Hawks have won six straight, their second winning streak of at least five games this season.
