Cecilian Bank in Elizabethtown recently conducted a very successful children’s book drive. The books were then donated to LaRue County Schools to be used with the LaRue County Community Early Childhood Council and LaRue County Health Department joint project, “My First Teacher,” to get books and information to parents participating in the WIC program.
Some LaRue County students not only learn at school, but thanks to a transition program in which the district participates, they also have the opportunity to receive on-site training at local businesses.
Second- and fourth-graders at Hodgenville Elementary School performed traditional instrumental pieces, as well as Christmas tunes from the 20th and 21st centuries. Kindergarten students ended the program by singing, “Must be Santa.”
