Six months of soybean production...

 Soybeans are in the fields for about six months of the year in LaRue County.  Let’s look at a brief summary of common or recommended production activities during these months.

Class begins for arthritis...

Arthritis is inflammation of one or more of your joints. The main symptoms of arthritis are joint pain and stiffness, which typically worsen with age. The two most common types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Osteoarthritis is usually caused by normal wear and tear, while rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder. Other types of arthritis can be caused by uric acid crystals, infections or even an underlying disease, such as psoriasis or lupus.

The HES site-based decision-making council will meet 11 a.m. May 28 in the conference room.

Baccalaureate
Baccalaureate was 3 p.m. May 19.

Graduation – new venue
LaRue County High School graduation is 8 p.m. May 24 at the football stadium, weather permitting.

4-H Calendar - May 15

 Cloverbuds

The 4-H Cloverbuds will meet 3:30-4:45 p.m. May 15 at the Extension office. The Cloverbud program is open to ages 5 to 8 or kindergarten through third grade. For more information, call the Extension office at 358-3401.

Coffeehouse Night held at ALES

A large crowd attended the fourth annual coffeehouse concert at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. About five budding poets and the ensemble offered their renditions of poetry and song to the snaps of fingered applause.

Poets included Addie Cundiff, Nick Vazquez, Mason Lane, Hannah Gregory and Beverly Heady.

Relay For Life donation

Allison Shepherd, general manager of The LaRue County Herald News, presented a check for $335 to Kathy Ross, Survivor chairperson for LaRue County Relay for Life. The newspaper collected donations for “in memory of” and “in honor of” ads for those who have battled cancer.
