Grain harvest equipment is much larger than it used to be. Combines are much bigger, grain carts have increased in size tremendously, and semi-trucks and trailers haul hundreds of bushels of grain away from high capacity combines.
This equipment has to travel from field to field to harvest our corn and soybean crops. As a result, large farm equipment is on our rural roads that were not designed or suited for them.
Both farmers and the general public should share in the responsibility of safe travel during the harvest season.
