Juneteenth – the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the U.S. – will be celebrated for the first time in LaRue County on June 16.
Local feline celebrity, Miss Kitty, “The Courthouse Cat” caused quite a stir when she disappeared from her home at the courthouse for almost two weeks.
There will be a Volunteer Orientation event on Saturday, June 15 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m., for Susan G. Komen of Louisville. During this event you will learn how to become more involved in your community. The event will be held at Hodgenville City Hall, 200 S. Lincoln Blvd. Hodgenville. The GED Commencement this past Monday should be a reminder that those who might be considering earning their certificate have until the end of next month to take the assessment without cost.
