With upcoming festivities such as Prom, Project Grad, and graduation, the roads can become a very dangerous place for excited young people.

On Friday, April 13 both LaRue County Fire and Rescue and Buffalo Fire and Rescue with help from Dale Dobson, Farm and Home Safety Program administrator for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture put on a mock wreck and rescue for the students and faculty of LaRue County High School.

The landscape is changing in LaRue County and Hodgenville as several businesses are building new buildings or adding on to their existing buildings.

LaRue County Public Library

Many LaRue Countians have expressed their excitement about the frame of the new library coming up in recent weeks.

The new library is being built at 215 Lincoln Drive in Hodgenville and Director of the LaRue County Public Library, Dana Jolly, said that she is excited to see the progress of the new library.

Goodtime Cruisers kicks-off this...

Terry Taylor, president of Goodtime Cruisers, is quick to explain that when his members and visitors get together, the result is not a car show. Rather, it’s a “cruise, sitting still” which he explained is much more than a show.

“We pull up our lawn chairs, share some good food and conversation and relax to some 50’s music while enjoying some of the classic automobiles,” explained Taylor. “There’s no admission charge, we sometimes have live bands, and we give away door prizes.”

Lady Hawks go 3-2 in Border War

The Lady Hawks varsity softball team went 3-2 in the Border War tournament at Monroe County on April 5-6.

The Lady Hawks beat Cumberland County 9-3, Russellville 6-3 and Smith County 11-3. The Lady Hawks lost two close games to Campbellsville 6-5 and Monroe County 10-9.

Community news - April 11, 2018

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Aaron Barbour in the passing of his son last week. The visitation was Tuesday, followed by graveside services. The grandparents were Reverend Douglas and Maggie Barbour, Pastor of First Baptist Buffalo.

Chris Goodin, Sr. Homegoing celebration was last Thursday at the Church of Christ in Elizabethtown. Burial was at Hubbard cemetery. He was a 1970 graduate of LaRue County High School. He was married to Shirley Sprouls and they have a son, Chris Goodin, Jr.
