  • Life expectancy did what?

A new year is a time resolutions, it brings about a need in people to want to change things and do things differently. A new year is kind of like starting over. The unfortunate truth about resolution is that they rarely stick. Probably because we are creatures of habit, habits are hard to break, healthy habits are even harder to create. Now before you get up in arms I’m not telling anyone they need to eat their veggies, but I recently read an article on NPR’s website that shocked me. It was about the life expectancy in the US dropping for the first time since 1993.

  • LETTER: Thank you for support, celebrating Morrison Santa's Helpers 50th year

    Dear Editor,

Snookie Morrison and Santa’s helpers would like to thank everyone in the community that helped with our program for our 50 Year Anniversary. We cannot express our thanks for all of your donations of toys, food, money, escorts and any other acts of kindness. We could not make this possible without help from the community. We would also like to say a special thank you to Eli Sisney (son of Jesse and Liz Sisney) for coming out to help Santa hand out treats.

    See you next year!!

  • What Micorsoft Teams does for small business

Most businesses still face the challenges of technology silos. Even with heavily underutilized products like Evernote and Slack, which range from free to low cost, Small Business (SMB) owners simply fail to maximize the benefits of automated tools to allow collaboration between workers.

Now Microsoft is entering, or some would say reentering, this work space again with Microsoft Teams (not to be confused with Microsoft Team Server.)

  • Five steps to a new financial you in 2017

With the New Year comes an opportunity to make some improvements to your financial health. Don’t make just another resolution that disappears by Valentine’s Day. Take your financial wellness to a whole new level: a New Year, a new financial you.

These five steps will help you to establish a good financial path for 2017:

Take stock of your finances. Take account of all your income, expenses, and existing savings/investment accounts. Don’t forget to include any debts you may have incurred from the recent holiday season.

  • Balloons and kindness

I always tell my boys to be kind no matter what. They should never say unkind words because you never know what kind of day a person has had or what they are going through. Someone’s bad day can often be your own misfortune when they lash out at you from their own frustration, but if you smile and say something kind the situation is usually diffused instantly.

  • Annoying Tech Problems? Here are a few solutions for you.

Next year, I plan to offer as least one article a month targeting some common tech issues regular users (that’s you) have. As a teaser of what is to come, let’s hit a few smart device issues you can easily overcome.

  • LETTER: On behalf of my family, thank you

    Dear Editor,

  • Christmas must have tech toys

Oh the smells of peppermint and merry songs are in the air, the socks are hung by the chimney with care and the Christmas tree is trimmed.

Now, what shall we put under them and stuff the socks with? Here is my 2016 list of must have tech toys for good little girls and boys!
