  • JUST ASK: What about those old planes?

I saw and heard what appeared to be World War II airplanes flying between Buffalo and Mount Sherman last Tuesday. Any idea what is going on?

Several restored World War II commemorative aircrafts were on display last week at the Bardstown-Nelson County Airport, according to The Kentucky Standard.

It was part of the American Navion Society National Convention, an annual event where pilots throughout the country gather to showcase their historic planes.

  • Some things just don't necessarily follow

As I listen to various people and ponder statements made, it seems to me that some things just don't necessarily follow from initial statements.

Take for an example: to help you remember, set up some “memory pegs” or associated ideas. But how in the world will doubling what I am trying to remember going to help me - when remembering is my basic challenge?

Another goofy (to me) proposal:  if it is on the Internet it much be true, accurate, real. Says who else?  Who is the monitor for accuracy?

  • COLUMN: Sawyer Brown still rocking after 31 years

When I told my daughter Amanda that my husband Bud and I were going to a Sawyer Brown concert, she had one question:

  • Red Hill Cemetery is lovely

I would like to take the time to say how proud I am for the lovely way Tim Robertson and his crew keep Red Hill Cemetery.

  • LETTER: Fly the flag every day

A few years ago, Congress passed into law proclaiming June 14 as National Flag Day.

A great many do so in this county today. At one time, this wasn’t so here.

Americans who have lived in a country outside of the good old USA, serving there, not being liked because you are Americans, you know they despise you, yet you do your duty. As you are driving on their roads, you drive by an American installation and you see the old red, white, blue, then you feel very proud to be an American. Then you know why some of us fly the flag every day.
