  • Letter: Blessings in a time of Breast Cancer

    Dear Editor,

With the recent anniversary of my diagnosis, I was interviewed by The LaRue County Herald News about my journey with breast cancer and I also wanted to take this time to thank some other special people in this letter.

    POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

    Dear Editor,

I am fed up with the way “political correctness” dominates today’s society.

  • Letter: Remembering 9/11

    Dear Editor,

On some anniversaries we celebrate. On others we reflect.

The 16th anniversary of the attack on America and New York’s World Trade Center is one of the times for reflection. There is truly nothing to celebrate in the extraordinary tragedy of 9/11.

As much as I would like to forget some of them, the images from that day will never be out of my mind, nor will the victims and their families.

    LOCAL HERO

    Dear Editor,

  • LETTER: Informing community about tax rate info

    Dear editor,

As a parent and alumna, I am honored to serve as a member of the LaRue County Schools Board of Education. I couldn’t be prouder of all our students and staff are accomplishing and that our district is the eighth highest achieving in Kentucky.

Your local schools want to continue and build upon this success, ensuring every LCS student has the educational opportunities they need to reach their full potential. To do that, it is imperative we begin sincere planning for the future, including our financial needs.

  • Agstravaganza thank you

    Dear editor,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of LaRue County Farm Bureau we would like to thank the community for the amazing support shown for our AgStravaganza Faith-Family-Farm-Food Dinner held on the square in downtown Hodgenville, August 12, 2017.

This was the second year for the dinner and it was a huge success. That was proven by watching 375 people mix and mingle while enjoying appetizers and dinner on a perfect August evening on our town square.

  • Letter to the editor - Vinessa Johnson

    Dear Editor,

  • Just Ask: What's with all these helicopters?

    Question

I noticed helicopters spraying corn fields. What has changed in corn production where helicopters are used now instead of spray buggies?

    Sincerely,

    Diane Ronkainen
