10U tournament brought 16 top teams to county

LaRue County hosted the West Kentucky Cal Ripken 10U State Tournament last week, giving residents a chance to enjoy the best of youth league baseball action.

The LaRue County All-Stars, coached by Jerry McBride, had the three toughest teams – out of 16 – in their pool.

The team “played hard and was excited to be there,” said McBride, but it wasn’t enough to overpower the eventual two-time state champion – Germantown; Jeffersontown; and three-year finalist Saint Matthews.
