BR Young Lodge breakfast

BR Young Lodge No. 132 will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast and open house 8-10 a.m. Sept. 5 at the Masonic building on the square in Hodgenville. A small donation is requested for the bacon, sausage and pancakes meal. For more information, call Paul Withington at 324-3325.

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety will join law enforcement and highway safety agencies across the nation in the “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest” crackdown on impaired driving, which continues through Labor Day.

Drunken driving is one of America’s deadliest crimes. More than 13,000 people are killed nationwide each year in highway crashes involving a driver or motorcycle operator with a blood alcohol  concentration (BAC) of 0.08 or  higher.

The American Red Cross, Hardin/LaRue Service Center, held its annual golf scramble July 31 at the Lincoln Trail Country Club in Vine Grove. More than $6,700 was raised to benefit the Red Cross Disaster Services Program. Eighty golfers played in an 18-hole team scramble, with a complimentary lunch, goody bag, door prize for each player and cash prizes. Thanks go to The Cecilian Bank for co-sponsoring and helping with the event.
