  • Ivy Brown named Player of the Year

     Travis Wootton said there’s no way to measure just how much senior wing Ivy Brown has meant to the LaRue County Lady Hawks this season.

    The Miss Basketball candidate averages a team-best 22.2 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, helping LaRue County to a 19-6 record entering tonight’s game at Campbellsville.

    The 5th Region girls’ coaches recognized how much of an impact Brown has had as she was named the region Player of the Year on the All 5th Region Team.

  • Fair board to meet

    The LaRue County Fair Board will meet 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the LaRue County Fairgrounds.

  • ECTC President's and Dean's List - Fall 2013

     Elizabethtown Community and Technical College has announced the names of students who made the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor List for Fall 2013 Semester. The President’s Honor List is awarded to full-time and part-time students who are eligible based on the following criteria:

    Full-time degree-seeking students earning a 4.0 grade point average and successfully completing at least 12 hours of course work for the academic term, excluding developmental courses, are included in the Full-time student President’s Honor List.

  • Nolin RECC offers trip to Washington, D.C.

     Local high school juniors whose parents or guardians are members receiving electric service from Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation are eligible to enter a contest that may take them to Washington, D.C. The yearly competition also includes a trip to Frankfort for all participating students.

  • Dinky performs fundraiser magic for Lions Club

     Dinky Gowen, a LaRue County illusionist, will perform a family-friendly, fundraiser magic show to benefit the Hodgenville Lions Club at 7 p.m. March 1.

    The two-hour show will be held at the LaRue County High School auditorium.

    One child will get the chance to be levitated.

     Jake Wisdom will demonstrate the trick that made Houdini famous – the straight-jacket escape.

    Tickets are $8. Free admission for ages 5-and-under.
