    Bake sale

    A bake sale will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21 at Lincoln Way in Hodgenville. All proceeds go to the Fall Festival candidate Olivia Clark. For more information call April Clark at 270-234-3868.

    LaRue Co. Fire Dept. Open House

    The LaRue County Fire Department will have an open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 22 at their firehouse on East Water Street in Hodgenville. The open house will include fire safety demonstrations. Equipment will also be on display and handouts will be available.

    Revival at Sunrise Manor

    Revival will be at Sunrise Manor at 7 p.m. October 19, 20 and 21. Brother Billy Curle will bring the message. There will be special music each evening. Everyone is welcome.

    Recently my wife and I traveled to Sandersville, Georgia for my 60th high school class reunion.  Only 18 of a class of 71 were able to attend.  Several have died and others were not able to make the trip.  As the class president in 1955-56 they asked me to speak to the group.

    A few things that never cease to amaze me are the resilience of the human spirit, how a messy situation can be made into something so breathtakingly beautiful and how family can love beyond measure no matter how far apart they are and what may stand in their way. I have been blessed to see these three amazements come together all at once.

  • LaRue County Schools terminates Goodlett employment

    According to a press release from LaRue County Schools Superintendent Sam Sanders Tuesday, October 18, 2016, Kyle Goodlett’s employment with LaRue County Schools has been terminated effective immediately.

  • LCHS principal suspended with pay

    Stephen Kyle Goodlett, principal at LaRue County High School, has been suspended.

    According to a news release from LaRue County Schools Superintendent Sam Sanders, Goodlett has been suspended with pay effective immediately and LCHS Assistant Principal Chris Price will fulfill principal duties during this time.

    Sanders said counselors were available on Friday at LCHS for both the students and staff. He said a note also went home with each high school student on Friday that explains what they know about the incident.

  • KENTUCKY STATE POLICE UPDATE - LaRue County High School Principal arrested

    KENTUCKY STATE POLICE UPDATE - The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post-4 Elizabethtown, arrested Stephen K. Goodlett on charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

    ALES Fall Festival

    Abraham Lincoln Elementary School will have a superhero theme Fall Festival. Students can come dressed as their favorite superhero. Food will be served at 5:30 p.m. and games will be from 6 to 8 p.m. October 14. Food will be Charlie’s Hoagies and pizza. This event is open to the community.

    HES Fall Festival

    Hodgenville Elementary School PTSO will host a Disney Theme Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. October 14. They will have a silent auction, food, Kona Ice and games. This event is open to the community.

  • Task Force on Vulnerable Kentuckians coming to LaRue

    24th District State Representative Terry Mills recently announced that the House Task Force on Vulnerable Kentuckians will hold its fifth meeting at 10 a.m. (EDT) on Friday, October 14 at the LaRue County High School in Hodgenville.

    House Speaker Greg Stumbo established the Task Force on Vulnerable Kentuckians, made up of a bipartisan group of state representatives, to study issues and problems that affect Kentucky’s population in need of support.
