  • Hawks advance to championship

    The Hawks varsity basketball team has advanced to the 5th region championship after they came out of a dogfight with a 48-45 win on Monday, March 5 against the Adair County Indians in the region semifinals.

    The Hawks had previously beat the Indians 79-62 in the regular season on January 30 and the Indians were looking for revenge in the semifinal.

    It was a low scoring affair as the Hawks lead 8-6 at the end of the first quarter and 17-12 at halftime.

  • LCHS academic team competes at region

    The LCHS Academic Team competed at the 5th Region Governor’s Cup competition held at Nelson County High School on February 12 and 17. The KAAC 5th Region is comprised of over 15 Academic Teams from around the area.

    It has been a busy week in our State Capitol. From continuing work to craft a budget, presenting bills before committees, and the release of a pension reform measure, there has been no shortage of activity.

  • Two indicted for jail contraband

    Two people were indicted on Monday, February 19 for promoting contraband into the LaRue County Detention Center.

    Lola E. Goodman, 44, of Elizabethtown and Justin D. Borders, 28, of Hodgenville were both indicted for complicity to first degree promoting contraband. Borders was also separately indicted for first degree persistent felony offender.
