  • LCHS FFA advisor, member tour Ireland

    LaRue County High School FFA Advisor Misty Bivens and FFA member Turner Cottrill recently toured Ireland on an FFA trip.

    Cottrill was one of 52 FFA members that was selected to attend as national FFA winners that toured agriculture sites in Ireland as they compared the industries of Ireland to the United States. The group had an orientation session in New York City on June 8 before they departed for their nine day tour.

    Class of 1967 Reunion

    The LaRue County High School Class of 1967 will celebrate it’s 50 year reunion on October 7 at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 730 Tonieville Rd. in Hodgenville.

    Appetizers will be served during a meet and greet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. followed by a meal at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person. Letter notices and Facebook messages have been sent. For more information contact Diane Hager Gardner at 270-537-5638 or Susie Brown Skaggs at 270-766-8567.

    Veterans Fundraiser

    A Veterans Fundraiser and Cookout will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 at Creek Front Park in Hodgenville.  100% of the net proceeds will go to Veterans organizations.  Everyone is welcome.  For more information, call LaRue GOP at 270-325-3834.

    The Goodtime Cruisers will have a Cruise-in on the Square from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 15.


    The LaRue County Public Library will be closed Tuesday July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

    Our deepest sympathy goes out to the families of Finis Walker who passed away early in the morning on Sunday, June 25 at Sunrise Manor and to Delbert Evege who passed away. Gene Abrams Jr. was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 25. Mariah Breckenridge went to Hardin Memorial on Monday, June 26 for some tests.

    First Baptist- This Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. will be Bible Study.

    Lane Lincoln- This Sunday will be the Pastor Appreciation day for their pastor, Rev. Aaron Moss, Sr. and his wife.

  • Simon Ford pleads guilty to sexual misconduct

    The former head coach of the LaRue County High School and Middle School girls’ basketball teams has pled guilty to sexual misconduct.
