    The Homegoing celebration for Rex Thompson was held last Wednesday morning at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove. He’s the husband to Mildred Dorsey-Thompson.

    Allen Dixon was admitted to the hospital Monday morning. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Mike Brown. Most of those my age went to high school with Mike. The family is in our prayers.

    Everyone was happy to see Carolyn Cox, Carlos Cox, and Mary Jackson at church on Sunday morning at First Baptist. They had been out due to illness.

  • History on the move: LaRue Genealogy Society votes to trade spaces

    Taking the elevator to second level of the Civic Center above City Hall, members of the LaRue County Genealogy Society surveyed the layout of classrooms on the upper level to see if the space could serve as a future potential home for history.

    Bookings at the LaRue County Detention Center from Friday, November 17 to Friday, November 24, 2017

    Juan Carmona, 19, of Bardstown was lodged for careless driving, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, no operators license or moped license and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle. He was later released from LCDC.

    Christian Lopez Bermudez, 22, of Radcliff was lodged for fourth degree assault. He was later released from LCDC.

  • Helping Santa's Helpers

    Ann “Snookie” Morrison and Santa’s Helpers are collecting Christmas donations for children of all ages this year and are in need of new and gently used toys as well as batteries.   • Brown leaves behind legacy

    The community is mourning the loss of a well known LaRue County Schools educator and athletics coach who passed away last week.

    Robert Michael “Coach” Brown, 65, of Hodgenville passed away on Saturday, November 25. Brown was well known in the community after serving as a LaRue County Schools educator and sports coach for 36 years before retiring in 2013.

  • LCMS basketball takes on Green Co.

    Because of the holiday break, the LCMS Boy’s Middle School basketball team had only one game on the hardwood last week and it was a home game against Green County Middle on Tuesday, November 21.

    The 7th grade Hawks tipped off the night of action hoping to move their winning streak to six games in a row. In the first quarter of play the Hawks jumped out to a 12-7 lead as both teams struggled to find consistency on both ends of the floor. By the end of the second quarter, the Hawks had built a 24-13 lead heading into halftime.
