  • Hawks roll on Senior Night

    The Hawks were missing a pair of key seniors Oct. 2 but managed to defeat Campbellsville 3-1.

    Senior Night looked like it would be a long night when the team fell behind early on. However, goals from seniors Curtis Milby and Raymundo Perez – and a first-ever varsity goal by Casey Brooks – led to a win.

    Brooks played as a striker for the first time.

    “The team played finally as just that – a team each working for the other. It was a most rewarding game,” said Head Coach Derek Bell.

  • Lady Hawks extend winning streak to 12

    The Lady Hawks extended their winning streak to 12 with a win over visiting Hart County Wednesday. The following evening, Green County snapped their streak.

    Senior middle hitter Ivy Brown had 12 kills and 10 digs and senior middle hitter Alley Evans had nine kills and nine digs as LaRue’s Ladies defeated 18th District rival Hart 25-13, 25-18, 25-17.

  • Lincoln Days not affected by Park closure

     Lincoln Days 2013 could have been a complete wash, save for the planning of the festival’s organizers.

  • Pioneer Games' participants donate winnings to Rock

     Participants in Saturday’s Lincoln Days’ Pioneer Games and Railsplitting Contest donated their winnings to Gary Rock, who lost both legs in August in a farming accident.

  • Dinky Gowen to perform at State Theater

     Dinky Gowen, a LaRue County illusionist, will perform at The Historic State Theater 7 p.m. Oct. 12.

    The Halloween-themed show will feature some of Houdini’s tricks (upside-down straightjacket escape and milk can water escape), performed live on stage.

    The “ghost” of Houdini will make an appearance.

    Tickets are available at the door or in advance at www.historicstatetheater.org. Tickets are $8 for adults. Children 10 and under, $5.

    Karon Elizabeth Parrett and Albert Lee Floyd, both of Hodgenville, announce their marriage.

    The bride is the daughter of Mary and Phillip Gardner of Elizabethtown.

    The groom is the son of Lindsey Floyd of Hodgenville, and Sue Ellen Tindell of Columbus, Ind.

    The wedding was Oct. 2, 2013, in Elizabethtown.

    Aaron and Marla Stillwell of Hodgenville announce the birth of a son, Clayton Lee Stillwell.

    Clayton Lee was born at 12:09 p.m. Aug. 15, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.

    Grandparents are Reed and Angie Smith of Magnolia; and Roger Stillwell of Upton. Great-grandmother is Ramona Smith-Troutman.
