    The summer camping program at the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Boys and Girls Ranch officially opened to campers for their 41st season on Sunday, June 12. The camp runs throughout June and July serving both boys & girls alternating weeks, throughout the camp season.

Established in 2005, Leadership LaRue provides educational experiences for present and future leaders to develop knowledge and foster appreciation of our community and to encourage civic involvement.

  • Diabetes A – Z Class Series

    According to the 2015 Kentucky Diabetes Report, in 2013, diabetes was the 7th leading cause of death in the U.S. and Kentucky. Besides leading to premature death, both types 1 and 2 diabetes are associated with long term complications that threaten the quality of life. Diabetes is the leading cause of adult blindness, end-stage kidney disease and non-traumatic lower-extremity amputations.

  • Library seeks public opinion for long range goals

    The LaRue County Public Library is going to hold a public forum to allow the community to share their ideas and possibly help the library with their long range goals. It’s the first time in recent memory that they have held a public forum like this one.

    “We haven’t had a public forum since I have been Director. I’ve been Director for 6 years and I was the bookmobile librarian 9 years previous and I don’t recall having one then either,” said LaRue County Head Librarian, Dana Jolly.

    Abdel Hejazi, 27, of Hodgenville, was charged with operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance. He remains lodged in LCDC on bond. Arresting agency was the Hodgenville Police Department.
