    KHIC Wee Time

    Preschool children ages 2-4 and their parents are invited to Wee Time, where preschool children can become familiar with the school they will attend. The event is October 19 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Hodgenville Elementary School. The color for the event is yellow.   • Newby announced as alternate Youth Leader of the Year

    LaRue County High School student Seth Newby was recently announced as an alternate Youth Leader of the Year.

    Newby is the son of Freddie and Melissa Newby. The other alternate was Lane Ryan of Elizabethtown High School, daughter of Kevin and Susan Ryan.

    Based upon biographic information, leadership positions, academics, essay and personal interviews, two other students were recently selected to represent the Lincoln Trail Youth Salute Program as Youth Leaders of the Year.

  • Lost in LaRue

    An eighth of a tank of gas is probably not enough for a back roads morning adventure, but I did it anyway. I was on my way to work and the sun was shining on the trees that are just about to change colors, mist was rising out of the hills and it just seemed like the perfect morning to take some photos. I was on 31E headed toward Hodgenville and turned onto Hwy 470 headed toward a spot where I knew I could get some great shots.

  • Boil water advisory lifted

    The boil water advisory that was issued for several areas in Hodgenville was lifted at 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

  • Boil water advisory issued

    A boil water advisory has been issued for Hodgenville businesses and residents on Shawnee Drive, Indian Trail and Phillips Court.

    The advisory was issued due to a waterline break on Shawnee Drive. The water has also been shut off for businesses and residents on the three streets while Hodgenville Water Works employees continue to repair the break. Employees said they hope to have the water turned back on by Wednesday night.

    A revival is being held through October 9 at the Church of God located at 339 Upton Road (Hwy 1079) in Magnolia. Bro. Mike Nixon from North Carolina will bring dynamic preaching.     At the end of 2015, the Gallup Poll released data stating 75% of Americans identified with Christianity. This number was down by roughly 5% since 2008, but still stands as a overwhelming majority of individuals within our country. At the same time, we find that the gathering of the church across America is in a state of plateau or decline. The ultimate question then must be asked, “Which Jesus is being followed?”
