    The LaRue County School Board on Dec. 16 recognized the teachers who have been nominated for the 2014 ExCEL Award. This award recognizes public school teachers who exemplify excellence in their teaching methodology; and are role models of professionalism and citizenry.

  • Fathergills graduate from WKU

    Wade and Sandra Fathergill of Hodgenville, formerly of Lexington, announce the graduation of their son, Jimmie “Neal” Fathergill, and their daughter, Tracie Lynn Fathergill, from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. The commencement was Dec. 14, 2013, at E.A Diddle Arena.

    Campbellsville University graduated 196 students in two ceremonies Dec. 13 in Ransdell Chapel.

    Each year the school districts are required by the state to provide a comprehensive improvement plan.  On Dec. 16, Amanda Reed, assistant superintendent, presented the 2013-14 Comprehensive Improvement Plan to the school board.

  • School board hears personnel changes

     The LaRue County School Board heard the following personnel recommendations Dec. 16:

    •  Employment of Edie Gibson as substitute bus monitor at the LaRue County Bus Garage.
    •  Employment of Angela Buckles as instructional monitor at Kids’ Crew.
    •  Resignation of Ben Schell as head volleyball coach at LaRue County High School.
    •  Resignation of Garry D. Ross as adult education instructor for the Family Services Center.

  • Curle honored at Small Farm Conference

    LaRue County Conservation District board member Billy Curle was presented the Small/Limited Producer Award at the Small Farm Conference banquet Nov. 20 in Frankfort.
