Eleanor Grace Marksbury, Buffalo, is a new junior member of the American Angus Association, according to Bryce Schumann, CEO of the national organization with headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo.
Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in Association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.

Friends and family of the late David Stearman gathered at Creekfront Park recently to honor him with the dedication of a park bench at the site. A group affectionately known as the “Lunch Bunch” purchased the bench in Stearman’s memory. He died last October after an extended battle with leukemia.   

The oldest known sample of Abraham Lincoln’s writing will be on display during August at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Ill., according to Myjournalcourier.com

Lincoln’s stepmother, Sarah Bush Johnston Lincoln, saved the book for 35 years. After the president’s death, she gave it to his law partner, who gave away pages to Lincoln’s friends. Ten pages still exist.
