Hodgenville Main Street is hosting a day of free home improvement seminars Saturday.

$uper $timulus $aturday begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Museum Community Room with Eddie Black.

Black, who has worked on several of the historic buildings on Lincoln Square, will discuss home restoration and improvements.

Scotty Lee of Lee’s Nursery will discuss planting schedules, along with “what, where and how,” 11 a.m.-noon.

After lunch, Martha Lenardon will speak on “turning trash into treasure,” 1-2 p.m.

Magnolia Bank officials aren’t sure how many residents received bogus phone calls informing them of a problem with their accounts last week. But they believe they learned of the scam before any losses were incurred.

Starting April 6, several LaRue Countians received fraudulent calls asking them to disclose personal information. A few provided the information, while others reported the calls to the bank and the LaRue County Sheriff’s office.

Hodgenville resident Benjamin Kennedy won a 2009 Pontiac Vibe on "The Price is Right."

He and his wife were in the audience March 31 for the CBS-TV game show. The program aired nationally Friday.

After being called to "come on down," Kennedy earned his way on stage by guessing closest ot dollar value amount for a set of scuba diving equipment. He guessed $1,600 and the actual price was $2,200.

Kennedy played a game called Stack the Deck and won the vehicle. He was told that the car will arrive 10 days after the show aired.
