A gospel concert benefit by the Gary Polston Family and Southern Tributes and matched by Modern Woodmen of America helped raise more than $12,000 for Jim Cottrell who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year.
One hundred fifty bicyclists passed through Hodgenville on Oct. 10 for the Ride 2 Recovery Bluegrass Challenge. The event was organized to help bring awareness to the mental and physical rehabilitation programs for our country’s wounded veterans such as the Ride 2 Recovery challenges.
Last week firefighters Dan Risinger and Wally Sparks visited Hodgenville’s Head Start to teach kids about fire safety and prevention. The children practiced their fire drill by crawling out of the building and then were treated to demonstrations of firefighter equipment including a fire truck.
