    The ALES site-based decision-making council will meet at 5:35 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the school’s conference room. Future dates are Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 10, April 14, May 12 and June 9. For more information, call the school at 270-358-4112.

    The LaRue County School Board heard the following personnel recommendations Sept. 16.

  • LaRue County High School on top with TELL

    LaRue County High School was one of four high schools among 49 elementary, middle and high schools in Kentucky named Honorable Mention in a survey regarding teaching conditions, school safety and student achievement.

    The 2013 TELL (Teaching, Empowering, Leading and Learning) Kentucky Survey was the second statewide survey of school-based licensed educators in Kentucky and used the same survey instrument as was used in 2011.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Zaborowski – Carter

    Nikki Zaborowski of Union and Justin Carter of Hodgenville announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride to be is the daughter of David and Connie Dowers of Union. A 2012 graduate of Ryle High School, she is a 4.0 student at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College studying elementary education.

    The prospective groom is the son of Ricky Carter of Hodgenville and LeAnna Miller of Elizabethtown. A 2010 graduate of LaRue County High School, he is a welder at Altec.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Curry – LaFollette

    Tim and Becky Curry of Buffalo announce the engagement of their daughter, Olivia Beth Curry, to David Shane LaFollette of Hodgenville.

    The bride to be is employed at Dow Corning and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership at Western Kentucky University.

    The prospective groom is the son of David LaFollette of Roanoke and Rhonda Copley of Hodgenville. He is employed at Copley’s Garage. He holds an associate’s degree in automotive technology at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

    Alexandria Nicole Miller and Joseph Dale Fulkerson, both of Rineyville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride to be is the daughter of Eugene and Angie Miller of Irvington.

    The prospective groom is the son of Donnie and Hester Fulkerson of Sonora.

    The wedding is at 4 p.m. Sept. 14, 2013, at Freedom Way Church, 1190 Tabb Road, Cecilia. A reception will follow the ceremony at Colvin Community Center in Radcliff.
