  • Men plead guilty after hit-and-run

     Two Magnolia men, facing several charges involving a hit-and-run collision, entered guilty pleas April 23 in LaRue District Court.

    Ino Bello, 48, pleaded guilty to one count each of fleeing and evading police (on foot); no operator license; and leaving the scene of an accident. Bello was driving a full-size pickup on Ky. 1079 (Upton Road) toward Magnolia on April 12, when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a passenger car driven by Nobaliene Littlefield, 57, of Magnolia.

     Breakfast fundraiser for lodge

    B.R. Young Masonic Lodge #132 will hold a breakfast fundraiser 8-10 a.m. May 3 at the lodge on Lincoln Square. Cost is $5, all-you-can-eat. Proceeds benefit the building fund. For more information, call 270-234-4223.

     Hodgenville City Council will meet 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at City Hall, in a special session in an effort to oust Mayor Terry Cruse.

    The school board has revised two calendar days. May 16 will be an early release day for all students. May 23 will be a full instructional day

    The last day of school for students is June 4. Graduation is June 6.

    Women in Rural Electrification is taking applications for $1,000 scholarships to a student whose family is served by a Kentucky electric cooperative and has at least 60 hours of credits at a Kentucky college.      Sports and band pre-participation physicals

    Hardin Memorial Hospital’s Therapy and Sports Medicine Center, 1111 Ring Road, Elizabethtown, will hold sports and band pre-participation physicals for LaRue County student athletes 8:45-10 a.m. May 31.     Sunrise Manor Nursing Home will host an observance of the National Day of Prayer at 1:30 p.m. May 1.
