  • Kentuckians asked to respond to transportation survey

     Time is running out for Kentuckians to share opinions and make their voices heard in a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet initiative to update the Long Range Transportation Plan of the Commonwealth.

    Members of the public have until Feb. 25 to take a brief, confidential survey designed to gauge opinion on Kentucky’s transportation system and what it should offer in decades to come.

  • Kelly Devers named to Dean's List

     Kelly Christen Devers, a junior majoring in social work, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Brescia University, Owensboro.

    To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must complete at least 12 credit hours with a 3.5 GPA.

     The staff at LaRue County Health Department participated in National Wear Red Day on Feb. 1 to show their commitment to fighting heart disease in women. This day is part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign which brings awareness to women’s heart health issues.   • On Educating LaRue: Leaders map plans for future

     Last week, three members of the LaRue County Board of Education shared their views of the greatest challenges facing the board and school system today and the goals they envision attaining during their terms in office.

  • 4-H Calendar - Feb. 6, 2013

     Shooting Sports

    The 4-H Shooting Sports will hold practice 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the New Haven Gun Club. The club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month, weather permitting.

     

    Dog Club, no dogs

    The LaRue County 4-H Dog Club will meet 2:30-3:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Extension office. Do not bring dogs to this meeting. Dogs are allowed at the next meeting, 2-3 p.m. Feb. 23. New members are welcome to attend.

     Beef Producers meet

    The LaRue County Beef Producers will meet 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the LaRue County Extension office. Jeff Clark with Dow AgroServices will discuss weed control in pastures. A meal sponsored by Southern States will be provided.

     LaRue County Extension Expo was a recipient of the Bobby McDowell Award of Excellence. The Extension Expo was recognized for 30 years of success in showcasing Extension and LaRue County to the community. Caleb Ragland, Council president, received the award from award committee member Rita Williams.
