  • Small ruminant grazing conference is Feb. 2

     Small ruminant production has steadily grown in Kentucky, and the state’s farmers have realized the potential of raising sheep and goats.

    The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture is teaming up with the Kentucky Sheep and Goat Development Office, the Kentucky Goat Producers Association and the Kentucky Sheep and Wool Producers Association to offer the 2013 Kentucky Small Ruminant Grazing Conference at the Morehead State University Farm in Morehead. Scheduled for Feb. 2, the conference will offer many sessions for all levels of experience.

     The old bromide, “If you don’t like the weather in Kentucky, just wait a few minutes,” holds some truth, especially in the winter when temperatures can drop several degrees in a very short time, changing wet roads to ice.

  • Drive sober or get pulled over

    To help save lives this holiday season, Hodgenville City Police Department is launching a special “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown to stop impaired drivers and to save lives on our roadways.

    Officers will be aggressively looking for impaired drivers and will arrest anyone caught driving impaired. Enforcement efforts will include sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols. The special enforcement crackdown will run through Jan. 1.
