Kurt Hencye has learned to paint.
At age 37, the Magnolia man tackled his first art project – detailing a ceramic largemouth bass. Using a small brush, he painstakingly blended colors and dabbed paint on each scale.
It took six months to complete. He’s proud of the result – doubly so because Kurt is legally blind.
Kurt, whose failing sight is genetic, can see things up close but even at arm’s length, things begin to blur. Late in the day, when his eye muscles begin tiring, his sight worsens.
