A Hodgenville couple received a green light Monday from Hodgen­ville City Council to begin building a house on Fairview Drive.
That sounds simple enough – but to Bobby and Bonnie Wright, it has proven to be one aggravation after another.
The Wrights planned to give a granddaughter an acre of land to build a home. In September, they contacted Land of Lincoln Planning and Zoning to have the property zoned from agriculture to residential.

Election Day 2011 is history though the official certification of results by the Kentucky State Board of Elections is scheduled for Nov. 28. While most Kentuckians are moving into the advent of the holiday season and a new year, the election season rarely has a breather. 

Candidates who intend to run on the 2012 primary or general ballot have begun filing their paperwork with Secretary of State Elaine Walker’s office in Frankfort. Qualified candidates will appear on the May 22 primary or the Nov. 6 general election ballot.

General Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. No local races are being contested and state and local officials are predicting a low turnout.
Results will not be available in the Nov. 9 issue of The LaRue County Herald News due to press deadlines.
However, the results will be available at www.laruecountyherald.com as soon as possible and in the print edition the following week.
