    Lincoln Days is pleased to announce that a $500 scholarship will be awarded again this year.

    Applications are available online at http://www.lincolndays.org/scholarship.

    Any LaRue County resident planning to further their education at an accredited institution is encouraged to apply.

  • HES kindergarten registration

    Hodgenville Elementary School will have their 2016-2017 Kindergarten Registration in the school’s front lobby on Thursday, March 24 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.  To enroll in Kindergarten a child must be five-years-old by October 1, 2016.

    Please bring the following items to school when registering:

    proof of residence (utility bill, lease or rental agreement)

    child’s official birth certificate (not the hospital record)

    child’s social security card

    immunization certificate

    Career launch

    The career launch event has been rescheduled for Friday, March 11. LaRue County Schools will be closed that day due to the career launch.

  • WKU gradutes fall 2015

    The following Western Kentucky University students from LaRue County graduated December 2015.

  • LCS recognized for meeting goal

    LaRue County Schools is among 111 public school districts statewide that delivered on a pledge made five years ago to improve the college and career readiness of its high school graduates by 2015.

    All of the state’s 169 P-12 superintendents and local board chairs signed the pledge – known as the Commonwealth Commitment to College and Career Readiness – in 2011. (In Kentucky, five public school districts do not have high schools). Each of the districts had a unique goal based on increasing its 2010 college and career readiness rate by 50 percent by 2015.

    Those named to the list were Benjamin Elijah Locke, sophomore, of Hodgenville; Cody Joseph Palacios, freshman, of Hodgenville; Lucas Ryan Pepper, senior, of Hodgenville; Adam Justin Sandidge, sophomore, of Hodgenville; Austin Tyler Stillwell, junior, of Hodgenville and Isaiah Thomas Turner, sophomore of Magnolia.

  • Clean Sweep at Governor’s Cup

    LaRue County Elementary Schools made a clean sweep at this past weekend’s District Governor’s Cup hosted at Hodgenville Elementary. Both schools qualified to advance to regional play which will be held on March 12 at Foster Heights Elementary in Bardstown.

    Abraham Lincoln accumulated a total of 61.5 points and was announced as District #49 Overall Champs and Hodgenville Elementary placed in runner-up position with 26 points. New Haven and Boston placed third and fourth respectively.

    Meade County Farm Toy Show and Sale

    The 22nd annual Meade county farm toy show and sale will be held Friday, March 4 from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Meade county fairgrounds. For more information call 270-547-6443.

    BQA Training

    A Beef Quality Assurance Training Session is scheduled at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 17 at the Hardin County Extension Office.  LaRue County producers that need BQA training are invited to attend.
