    LaRue County School Board

    The LaRue County School Board meets at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the LCHS Media Center.

    HES SBDM

    The Hodgenville Elementary School site-based decision- making council meets at 4:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the conference room. For more information, call the school, 270-358-3506.

  • New LCS classified staff

    LaRue County Schools’ support staff play a vital role in helping ensure success for LaRue County’s students. This year’s new classified personnel include:

    Bus Drivers

    Willie Dean Thomas (No. 116,) drives the morning route with pickups in Hodgenville including Walters, West High, College Street, Kids Crew, Cox and Thurman streets. She and her husband Mike have one son, Jaron.

    Tim Elliott (No. 140) who lives in Summersville, drives the North Lyons Station route. He has three sons—Aaron, Zackary, and Cameron.

  • Fun, friends, leadership

    Fun, friends and leadership. That’s what 27 LaRue County FFA members came to know during the camp at the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center in Hardinsburg, Kentucky.

    The 13 chapters present were involved in activities like softball, volleyball, soccer, ropes course, water ball, and many others. Members were also a part of classes like agriculture advocacy, conservation, and going to college, in which they gained the skills of everything from leadership to communication to learning ways to survive.

  • New faculty at LCS

    Fourteen certified personnel join the ranks of LaRue County School teachers this year. Below are brief introductions to who they are, where they’re from, where they teach, and short comments from them.

    Abraham Lincoln

    Elementary School

    Stefanie Carmine-Bryan (first grade).

    Born in Louisville and grew up in Bardstown. High School: Bardstown High School. College: Spalding University, bachelor’s and master’s degrees. 

    Experience: 1997-2000 taught a 1st/2nd grade mix at Bardstown Elementary School;  

  • Fourteen McConnell Center teachers visit Washington, D.C.

    Senator Mitch McConnell had 14 teachers from Kentucky visit the nation’s capital from July 24-28 and one of them was LaRue County High School Social Studies teacher Kendrick Bryan.

    4-H Council

    The LaRue County 4-H Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 7 at the LaRue County Extension Office.

  • 4-H Calendar - July 26, 2017

    4-H Cloverbuds

    4-H Cloverbuds (ages 5-8 years old or K-3rd grades) are invited to 4-H Cloverbud Day Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 28 at the LaRue County Extension Office.  Participants will enjoy a variety of games, crafts and activities.  Lunch will also be included.  Please call to register at 270-358-3401.

    4-H Council

    The LaRue County 4-H Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 7 at the LaRue County Extension Office. 

  • 4-H Science Skills Day Camp

    Twenty-two 4-Hers participated in a Science Skills Day Camp led by LaRue County Extension Summer Intern, Kyle Schenck.  Participants got to work on making catapults, maze boxes, bow and arrows, harmonicas and bottle rockets.
