    KHIC Wee Time

    Preschool children ages 2-4 and their parents are invited to Wee Time, where preschool children can become familiar with the school they will attend. The event is December 14 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. The color for the event is red.     LCHS Choir Holiday Program

    The LCHS Choir will have their Holiday performance at 6 p.m. on December 8 in the LaRue County High School Auditorium.

  • Showing kindness during Christmas season

    The true Christmas Spirit calls for positive actions of peace on earth and good will to men.

    LaRue County High School’s FFA members are doing their part by performing random acts of kindness this month.

    Misty Bivens, LCHS ag teacher and FFA adviser, saw the idea for random acts of kindness on a facebook post. She shared that thought with her FFA officers who considered it a great idea. For specific acts, the members voted on activities they liked best and modified them to meet their needs.

  • LaRue Speech team takes third, sixth place

    Before the Thanksgiving holiday last Thursday, the LaRue County Speech and Debate team traveled to North Oldham High School and Danville High School to compete in speech tournaments against other teams from all across the state.

  • LaRue named delegation of excellence at KYA

    Several LaRue County High School students got a close up and personal look at the workings of state government as they participated in the Kentucky Youth Assembly November 20-22 in Louisville and Frankfort.

    “Three of our four bills reached the desk of the Governor,” said Kendrick Bryan, LCHS social studies teacher who with Lindsey Bryan and Ben Schell chaperoned the LaRue County students who joined others from throughout Kentucky.

  • LaRue County Choir reaching new vocal heights

    With a love for all things musical, one young woman has been leading LaRue County students to new vocal heights sharing her engaging passion for music.

    Amber Tucker has been teaching choir at LaRue County High School and Middle School for four years. Days after graduating from Western Kentucky University, Tucker saw a job opening for choir director at LaRue County Schools and applied.

    “With in a 72 hour span I had applied for the job and had an interview. I was super fortunate because it was only a week after I had graduated,” Tucker said.

  • ALES Student of the month

    Abraham Lincoln Elementary School recognized a Student of Character in each homeroom for the month of November. Hometown Pizza in Hodgenville donated a free pizza coupon for each winner.

  • Quick recall places third

    The LCHS Academic team hosted the KAAC JV Challenge on Saturday, November 12.  The JV Challenge is an academic competition consisting of written assessments and quick recall for 9th and 10th grade students.  LCHS competed against 6 local teams including Bethlehem, Bardstown, Nelson, Washington, Marion and Bullitt East.
