  • School board: RC Cola wins bid

RC Cola will again be the drink of choice for LaRue County Schools during the upcoming year.
The LaRue County School Board decided at its April 20 meeting to award the beverage contract to RC, rather than its larger competitor, Pepsi.
At the March meeting, board members considered a request by the district’s principals to award the bid to Pepsico for July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2018. The consensus was that Pepsi products would sell better.

  • Forty participate in HES' archery club

Remember those days of yore when Robin Hood, taking careful aim with his long bow, shot an arrow that split his opponent’s arrow shaft dead center of the target’s bullseye?

Hodgenville Elementary School’s fourth and fifth grade students may not have attained that level of expertise, but they are having fun learning about archery in a safe manner.

Teacher Laura Kudrna said enjoyment is a big part of the 40-member club’s goal.
