  • New teachers in LaRue County

    Hodgenville Elementary

    Kylee Ferkel, 4th Grade. Ms. Ferkel has spent the past 3 years as a 4th grade teacher at Buckeye Woods Elementary in Grove City, Ohio.  Prior to that, she taught one year at Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy in Columbus, Ohio.  She is a graduate of The College of Saint Rose, in Albany, New York, and received her Masters of Education in Educational Psychology from Texas Tech University.

    KEES allows students to earn money for college by getting good grades in high school and for qualifying scores on the ACT or SAT. Students eligible for free or reduced lunches may also earn awards for good scores on Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Cambridge Advanced International exams. KEES is administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

  • Foreign exchange in LaRue County

    LaRue County families will host eight foreign exchange students who will attend LaRue County High School during the 2015-16 school year.

    Katie Wheatley is local coordinator for the Council on International Educational Exchange, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that places the students.
