    LC Schools last day of school

    May 25 is the last day for students and May 26 is closing day.

  • Helping students become career ready

    Sarah Caven, who directs LaRue County Schools’ Community Work Transition Program, hopes to connect her students to careers within their community.

    “Our motto is ‘Career Ready!’” said Caven, who describes herself as a job coach. “My goal by the end of the school year is for my students to have paying jobs.”

  • Students receive nurse’s aid certification

    Fifteen LaRue County High School juniors have been accepted into a class leading to state registered nurse’s aide certification through Campbellsville University’s Technology Training Center’s Allied Health Program.

    Those students include Tonya Atwell, Rachel Fantasia, Autumn Bailey, Emma Bowling, Autumn Riggs, Gillian Nunn, Cidney Neagle, Danielle Warren, Megan Cochran, Ashley McCoy, Cassidy Morgan, Airyl Heath, Olivia McFelia, Antrea King, and Chelsi Parks.

  • Students accepted to Governor’s School for the Arts

    LaRue County High School juniors Jake Cecil and Jessika Shanks have earned spots in the prestigious 2016 Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts.

    Across Kentucky, more than 1,700 students applied for a total of 256 openings for nine arts disciplines, according to the program.

    Cecil will participate in visual arts, while Shanks will participate in creative writing.

    May 13 is a full day with no early release, May 17 is a work day with teachers reporting and students not in school; May 25 is the last day for students and May 26 is closing day.


    The Hodgenville Elementary School site-based decision- making council meets at 4 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the conference room. For more information, call the school, 270-358-3506.

    LaRue County School board

    The LaRue County School Board meets at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at the LCHS.

  • Scholarship calendar - May 11, 2016

    CKCA to Offer Educational Awards

    Central Kentucky Community Action will again offer educational awards for graduating high school seniors and GED recipients in LaRue County. The awards will be given in the form of scholarships to assist with tuition while attending a four year college, a two year college or a technical school. Certain guidelines must be met, and scholarship packets are available at the high school, and the local Community Action office. For more information call 270-358-3937.
