Campbellsville University Technology Training Center, in partnership with the Lake Cumberland Area Development District and Lincoln Trail Development District, is offering three new allied health programs in Hodgenville with the first program beginning Sept. 14.

Carol Sullivan, director of the Campbellsville University Technology Training Center, said the programs consist of medical transcription, clinical medical assistant and phlebotomy. All classes are taught at the Brockman Center, 813 Old Elizabethtown Road, Hodgenville.

Last Monday, Abraham Lincoln Elementary School students returned to their campus to find small acorns and photos of a young Matt Hanson hanging from the “Matt Hanson tree” which had been planted last spring in the fallen soldier’s honor. No one knew where the photos had come from or the reason for the acorns hanging by string from the young oak.

Several new personnel have joined the ranks of LaRue County Schools’ employees as the 2010-11 year gets under way.

LaRue County Middle School has a new principal, Bob Bright, and assistant principal, Bobby Hart. Also joining the LCMS staff are science teachers Kendall Cook, Deena Paden and Pamela Walters; language arts teachers Andrea Gribbins and Vicky Wright; food service assistant, Pam Dosier; and part-time custodian, Elizabeth Ramsey.

Sarah Hornback, director of family services for LaRue County Schools, is one of the first educational professionals in the nation to become a Certified Manager in Program Improvement.
