 Bardstown Police arrested a woman Jan. 22 on outstanding warrants after coming to the conclusion she falsely reported that she was almost abducted by a man in a white van.

Police took a closer look at surveillance video and determined the van did not match reports from three other victims, Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin said in a press conference.

 A former New Haven man, who pleaded guilty last year to repeatedly sexually assaulting his juvenile stepdaughter, says he was failed by the judicial system and nearly died at the hands of incompetent jailhouse medics. 

 Bardstown Police have obtained a partial surveillance video of a white van suspected in two attempted abductions last weekend.

“It’s a rough, grainy video,” said Capt. Tom Roby. But it does show a van in the lot and shows it leaving.”

With the video, we’re almost sure it’s a Ford, but we can’t call it yet,” said Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin.  “We’re almost certain it’s a Ford van.”

The Cecilian Bank branch in Sonora was robbed at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15.

An unidentified white male entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding cash, according to Kentucky State Police. The teller complied, and the suspect left the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. He was not located in the area.
