  • Grand jury hands down murder indictment

    Abdullah Rahman White was indicted Monday by a LaRue County grand jury for the murder of 28-year-old Kristie Lynne Allen.
    Allen was found dead Dec. 30 inside a home in Buffalo where she had been house-sitting for friends.
    White, 35, of Radcliff, was seen fleeing the house in Allen's car, according to Kentucky State Police.

  • Louisville man faces charges after crashing bike

    A Louisville man is facing charges after allegedly crashing a motorcycle while fleeing an officer.

    Brian B. Baldwin, age unavailable, was operating a 2000 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle about eight miles east of Hodgenville just before 6 p.m. Feb. 17.

    According to CVE Officer Jason Morris, Baldwin was traveling at a high rate of speed (more than 120 miles per hour).

    Morris activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the bike. He caught up to him and observed him turning left onto Spring Loop Road.

  • Men indicted for shooting at crowd

    Two men have been indicted for allegedly shooting in the direction of a group of people at a New Haven bar.

    Patrick L. Keith, 40, Elizabethtown, and Jason Clay Sanders, 41, Hodgenville, allegedly fled the First and Last Chance Bar into LaRue County after shooting five or six rounds Jan. 5.

    New Haven Police Officer K.C. Holbert said the two men had been drinking when an altercation broke out shortly before 10 p.m.

  • Rapist sentenced to 11 years

     Final sentencing paperwork was completed for Pascal "Pat" Jones, 51, of 130 Willow Springs in New Hope, last week in Marion County. Jones was sentenced to 11 years in prison for first-degree rape in October 2011.

  • Buffalo man sentenced to 10 days on various charges

     A Buffalo man was sentenced to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to several traffic violations.

  • Vine Grove woman back in court for forged checks

     A Vine Grove woman, facing 61 counts of possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and theft charges, will be back in court March 5 for review of a previous case.

    Preliminary hearing rescheduled
    A preliminary hearing for Kim Reuter (1966) of Buffalo has been postponed until March 7 in LaRue District Court.
    Reuter has been charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking and one count of harassing communications. The alleged acts occurred in 2010. She has pleaded not guilty.
    The preliminary hearing determines whether there is enough evidence to be heard by a grand jury.

  • Inmate charged with assault of deputy jailer

     A LaRue County Detention Center inmate is charged with assaulting two deputy jailers.

  • Animal cruelty charges settled in district court

    Four residents have been charged recently with second-degree cruelty to animals.
    Amy Brown, 33, and Anthony D. Waldeck, 49, were charged after an officer reported finding several dogs in poor condition  on their property on Howardstown Road.
    Brown was fined $153 and received a six-month diversion Jan. 11 in LaRue District Court. She was sentenced to five days, suspended, and two-years unsupervised probation.
    Waldeck received a diverted sentence. If he has no further violations of the law during that period, the charge will be dismissed.
