    Preliminary hearing set
    Fernando Lara Gamboa (1970) was charged with forgery, second degree; criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree; no operator license; and failure of owner to maintain required insurance. Unsecured bond is $500. Preliminary hearing is March 14 in LaRue District Court.

  • Man charged with trespassing in storm-damaged area

    A Hodgenville man was charged Friday with criminal trespass after he allegedly refused to leave the area surrounding  storm-damaged KC Estates.
    Donald Lee Russell III, 24, was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing; buy or possession of drug paraphernalia; and failure to notify address change.
    Police Chief Steve Johnson said the area had been plagued with onlookers since minutes after the tornado struck. The National Guard was called in to help local law enforcement and firefighters with patrols.

  • Several indicted by Hart County grand jury

     The Hart County Grand Jury handed down several indictments in Februrary:

    Denise E. Horn, 56, of Lone Star Road, Upton, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and complicity; trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and complicity; possession of precursors with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine and complicity; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity; and possession of marijuana and complicity.

  • Buffalo woman pleads guilty to sexual misconduct

    A Buffalo woman, charged last year with second-degree rape and sexual abuse of a child, has pleaded guilty to amended charges in LaRue Circuit Court.
    A LaRue County deputy and Social Services investigated an accusation last April that  Annabelle Carlen Hatcher, 27, of Greensburg Road, had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy.
    Hatcher was charged with three counts of second-degree rape (no force); one count of first-degree sexual abuse; four counts of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor under 16; and being a persistent felony offender.

  • February Indictments

    Several people were indicted Feb. 20 by a LaRue County grand jury for offenses ranging from rape to welfare fraud.
    They include:
    Ethan Robert Ferguson (1973) of Henderson, was indicted on one count of flagrant non-support and first-degree persistent felony offender.
    He is charged with failing to provide support that resulted in an arrearage of $11,828.80 between December 2010 and February 2012. He is accused also of having been previously convicted of complicity to theft by unlawful taking and flagrant non-support in Hardin County.

  • Couple indicted after officers find indoor marijuana grow

    A Hodgenville couple was indicted Feb. 20 by a LaRue County grand jury on charges they were conducting an indoor marijuana grow.
    Robert A. Kincaid Jr., 41, and Betty J. Johnson, 37, of Oak Hill Road, were each charged with cultivating marijuana, five or more plants, and complicity; trafficking in marijuana (eight ounces to five pounds) and complicity; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity; and possession of marijuana and complicity.

  • Couple indicted in heroin bust

    A Hodgenville couple was indicted Feb. 20 by a LaRue County grand jury on drug trafficking charges.
    Tiffany Underwood and James Alex Clifford, both 23, are each charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance and complicity; first-degree possession of controlled substance (heroin) and complicity; first-degree possession of controlled substance, drug unspecified, and complicity; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity; and possession of marijuana and complicity.
    Trafficking is a Class C felony.

  • Mount Sherman man reports theft of toolbox

     The LaRue County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a recent theft in Mount Sherman that occurred the night of Feb. 13 or 14. 

    According to Deputy Russell McCoy, someone came onto the property of Floyd Evans and removed a large toolbox from his truck. The box contained Craftsman’s tools valued at $1,200. Other items were also taken bringing the totaled valued items to $1,500.

  • White indicted for murder of Kristie Allen

    Abdullah Rahman White was indicted by a LaRue County grand jury Monday for the murder of 28-year-old Kristie Lynne Allen.
    Allen was found dead Dec. 30 inside a home in Buffalo where she had been house-sitting for friends.
    White, 35, of Radcliff, was seen fleeing the house as a passenger in Allen’s car. He is accused of asphyxiating Allen and attempting to move her body from the scene.
