  • Man charged with damaging cruiser

    An Upton man was charged with third-degree assault and resisting arrest after he allegedly fought, cursed and spit on a city officer.

    Hodgenville officer Brandon Casey responded to a report of a disturbance on Phillips Lane about 1:40 a.m. May 10. When he arrived, he found Christopher Metcalf, 25, near one of the staircases to Taylor Mills Apartments.

    The officer attempted to cite Metcalf with alcohol intoxication in a public place. Metcalf allegedly became combative and struggled. The officer used pepper spray to subdue him, according to the citation.

  • More voyeurism charges filed against former dispatcher

    More charges have been filed against a former Hodgenville man accused of secretly videotaping an underage girl at his home.

    James Orley Absher, 50, of Columbia and formerly of Hodgenville and Elizabethtown, was charged in March and December with several counts of promoting a minor in a sexual performance and voyeurism in LaRue County.

    He faces nine additional counts of voyeurism in Hardin County.

  • Murder, burglary trial: Hair to be photographed, then tested

    Defense and prosecuting attorneys in a Buffalo murder case have been arguing about the testing of a single hair found at the alleged crime scene since February.

    Monday, they came to an agreement: The hair will undergo mitochondrial DNA testing at a Minnesota lab – after it has been photographed microscopically.

  • New version of credit card scam reported

    Kentucky is among the top eight states with the highest credit card fraud rates in the U.S. according to Statistic Brain.com.

    A Campbellsville man avoided being among the victims and wants to warn others of the scam.

    Lindsey “Junior” Beard received a card in the mail in May with the retail business names of Wal-Mart and Target on it, which supposedly could be used at any retail store.

    On the card, there was a number to call for its activation.

  • UPDATE: KSP releases description of deceased woman found on I-65

    Kentucky State Police have released photos of the jewelry found on an unidentified body Wednesday on Interstate 65.

    The woman is estimated to be between 25 and 30 within a range of 20 to 40. She is between 5-feet 2.5-inches to 5-feet 5-inches. She has shoulder length, dark brown wavy hair with a few red streaks or highlights.

    She has short, well-kept fingernails with remnants of red polish; and toenails polished with silver glitter.
