Four adults and a juvenile were charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief after driving all-terrain vehicles at Salem Lake.
Emily Petty of Sonora; Travis Puryear of Hodgenville; Cassandra D. Sherman of Elizabethtown; and Brandon Dawson of Elizabethtown, all 18, allegedly drove the ATVs around the lake area about 10 p.m., leaving ruts in “an area the size of a football field.” They were lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center.
The juvenile was released to his mother.

Two people were charged March 2 with trafficking in marijuana while a third was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
According to court records, Hodgenville City Police received an anonymous tip about a large quantity of marijuana in a Shawnee Drive apartment. The tenant gave permission for police to search the residence.
Officer Robby Brownfield reported finding a green leafy substance on a dresser and two pill bottles of marijuana seeds. He found a set of electronic scales in a top dresser drawer, hidden in a Conway Twitty CD case.

Pascal “Pat” Jones, 50, of 130 Willow Spring Road in New Hope was indicted in Marion Circuit Court last week for first-degree rape (three counts), first-degree sodomy (three counts), first-degree sex abuse (43 counts), first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor under 16 (21 counts), unlawful transaction with a minor under 18 (40 counts), and intimidating a witness in a legal process (two counts).

Richard Gilbert, of Hodgenville, was sentenced to 37-months imprisonment Monday for one count of tax evasion and one count of impeding and obstructing the Internal Revenue Service.

According to U.S. Attorney David J. Hale of the Western District of Kentucky, Gilbert was convicted after a five-day jury trial on May 15 on both counts of an indictment that charged him with one count of tax evasion and one count of impeding and obstructing the Internal Revenue Service in violations of Title 26, United States Code, Sections 7201 and 7212(a).
