Three more people were charged last week with manufacturing methamphetamine. The arrests came on the heels of similar charges against seven other people in a two-day period.
Mark E. Matthews, 54, of Buffalo; Deborah Ann Salsman, 49, of Elizabethtown; and Alysha Dawn Metcalf, 21, of Elizabethtown, were each charged Sept. 12 with manufacturing meth; first-degree possession of controlled substance; possession of marijuana; and buy or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Metcalf was also charged with failure to appear.

Clifford Eugene Aubrey, 48, of Buffalo, was charged Sept. 2 with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance - cocaine and first-degree possession of controlled substance - cocaine. He was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center under $25,000 unsecured bond. He will be arraigned in LaRue District Court. Constable Tim Ford investigated.
 

A complaint about a stinky burn pile and gunfire led to a break in a burglary case.
LaRue County Deputy Matt Darst made contact with residents at 2070 Dan Dunn Road in the Roanoke area on Aug. 26 after neighbors complained about “outdoor fires burning at all hours” and the sound of gunshots at the property.
Darst said he spoke to Michael Allen Baker and Paula Jean Baker, both 38, about the complaints and asked to search the home. Michael Allen Baker, as a convicted felon, is not permitted to own firearms, Darst said.

About 10 counterfeit bills have cropped up in Hodgenville businesses in the last two weeks.
“The most I’ve seen are $20 bills,” said Hodgenville City Police Chief Steve Johnson. “One was a $10 bill.”
The bills are being passed at convenience stores and fast food restaurants, Johnson said. Store owners are urged to look closely at bills and not accept any that appear suspicious.
One fake $20 bill was traced to a man who had received it in change from a small store in Hudgins in Green County, Johnson said.
