  • Perjury and heroin equal seven years for couple

     Two people pleaded guilty Thursday in LaRue Circuit Court to multiple drug charges and perjury.

     Guilty plea

    Brandon Christopher Branham (1992) pleaded guilty Aug. 20 in LaRue Circuit Court to complicity, receiving stolen property, over $300; and complicity, theft by deception, include cold checks over $300.  Recommended sentence is five years to run concurrently for a total of five years. Commonwealth attorney recommends probation. Final sentencing is Oct. 1. Defendant to be transported for final sentencing.

  • Hardin County's 'most wanted' arrested

     A Hodgenville man was charged last week with flagrant non-support, according to LaRue County Deputy Brian Smith.

    Jeffrey M. Aubrey, 34, had eluded law enforcement for more than a year. He was found “hiding in a closet” in a residence on Thompson Hill Road, Smith said.

    Officers served several Hardin County warrants on Thompson including probation violations.

    Aubrey owes $9,205.88 in arrears as of Aug. 31, according to court records.

  • Seven indicted by grand jury

     Seven people were indicted Aug. 20 on various charges by a LaRue County grand jury.

    Jamie Lee Bush(1976) of Hodgenville was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and complicity; possession of a controlled substance and complicity; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity; and possession of prescription not in a proper container and complicity.

    The alleged offenses occurred Aug. 3. Bush is accused of acting alone or in concert with Robert Yarman and Dustin Stridling.

  • New Haven man shot by officer

     A 61-year-old New Haven man, John Hagan, was shot at 2125 Monks Road Thursday afternoon in an incident involving a law enforcement officer.

    The shooting was apparently related to a neighbor dispute that Nelson County Dispatch reported at 2:46 p.m. According to the dispatch log, the officer who responded was Michael Watts.

    According to a press release by Norman Chaffins, a spokesman for the Kentucky State Police, state troopers received a call at 2:57 p.m. for backup for a Nelson County deputy sheriff who requested assistance.

     Two men were indicted on drug charges Aug. 12 by a Nelson County grand jury.

  • Cox, Henderson face trafficking charges in Hardin County

     Three men were arrested Wednesday on charges related to methamphetamine after investigators witnessed an apparent drug transaction in an Elizabethtown restaurant parking lot.

  • Pot found in 'secret grow room'

     A Lyons Station man was charged Friday with operating an indoor marijuana grow at his residence. 

  • More meth: Active lab found on Castleman Road

     August has brought on a spate of methamphetamine-related arrests in LaRue and surrounding counties.
