 A Hodgenville man was charged with wanton endangerment Monday night after discharging a weapon in a restaurant.

A Hodgenville man pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree assault of a police officer.
Jimmy Dale Murphy, 43, admitted to driving the pickup that struck 30-year veteran city officer Dennis Wells as he directed traffic in front of Hodgenville Elementary School in January.
He pleaded guilty also to one count each of operating on suspended or revoked operators license and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic.
He was sentenced to eight years on assault; 12 months for driving on suspended license; and 30 days on disregarding signal.

Firefighters discovered an operation of possibly more than 100 marijuana plants when they responded to a fire at a double-wide mobile home on Nat Rogers Road Wednesday morning.

The Rolling Fork Fire Department was dispatched to 1299 Nat Rogers Road shortly before 8:30 a.m., calling the Bardstown-Nelson County Fire Department for mutual aid. When the fire department arrived, they discovered part of the home's living room smoldering, but the fire was extinguished and damage was minimal, according to Frank Hall, Rolling Fork fire chief.

A Barren County man pleaded guilty in LaRue Circuit Court earlier this month to one count of criminal mischief and driving while under the influence of alcohol. He’s expected to receive a diverted sentence.
Police say Jeremy Scott Veatch, 24, was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus on U.S. 31-E just after 4 a.m. on April 10. The car entered the traffic island on Lincoln Square and struck the “Lincoln as a Boy” statue.
