  • Police continue hunt for Abdullah White

     Five days after Kristie L. Allen was found dead in a Buffalo residence, Kentucky State Police continue the manhunt for Abdullah R. White, the Radcliff man seen fleeing the scene in her vehicle.

    Norman Chaffins, public affairs officer at KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown, said Tuesday that White, 35, has a history of "violent crime," and state police are tracking down numerous leads in the case.

    "We're receiving tips," he said. "We're trying to figure out where he's at."

  • UPDATE ON BUFFALO SLAYING: Second woman charged

    An Elizabethtown woman was charged about 7 p.m. Sunday for allegedly taking a car belonging to a murder victim.

    Samantha J. Kolley, 19, was located on Wonderland Cavern Road in Hardin County following a tip, according to Kentucky State Trooper Norman Chaffins.

  • Cancer patient's suit against Flaget settled out of court

     A lawsuit against Flaget Memorial Hospital in Nelson County alleging it unlawfully fired a nurse after she was diagnosed with breast cancer has been settled out of court.

    A close friend of Jennifer Sanders reported Sanders had settled with Flaget during a pretrial conference in December.

    "Jennifer was not able to disclose any of the settlement with me," her friend, Malinda Carl, said.

  • KSP: Shooting was murder-suicide

    On a normal day, the most commotion heard on Heying Lane may be the clop-clop of a passing Amish horse-and-buggy.
    But Tuesday morning, gunfire rang out in what is usually a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end country road. Police say three people died after being shot near the intersection of Heying Lane and Hwy. 1517. It has been ruled a murder-suicide by Kentucky State Police, the investigating agency.

  • Court Briefs - Dec. 28, 2011

     Serve 90 days 

    Jennifer L. Ahmer (1984) was sentenced to five years, probated Dec. 5 in LaRue Circuit Court. She is ordered to serve 90 days and credited for 31 days served. She was fined $385. She was found guilty of second-degree trafficking in controlled substance; complicity of first-degree possession of controlled substance, unspecified; tampering with physical evidence; complicity of possession of marijuana; and complicity, controlled substance, prescription not in original container.

  • Two sentenced in railroad track thefts

    Neither Robert Brandon Wheeler, 27, nor Misty M. Taylor, 37, both of Louisville, were granted probation in Nelson Circuit Court Dec. 9.

    Both were sentenced to two years in prison for complicity to first-degree criminal mischief and two years in prison for complicity to first-degree wanton endangerment, with the sentences to be served concurrently for a total of two years.

  • Eight indicted by grand jury in December

     Eight people were indicted Dec. 19 by a LaRue County grand jury.

    They include:

    Bradley Scott Hovious(1981) of Hodgenville was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree persistent felony offender.

    He is accused of entering IGA Express Nov. 18 and threatening to use physical force while armed with a knife in order to take money from a store clerk.

    Bail was set at $50,000 cash. Hodgenville City Police investigated.

  • Hodgenville man charged in McCracken drug bust

     The McCracken County Sheriff's Department Drug Division wrapped up a month long investigation into a large marijuana trafficking ring on Wednesday. It resulted in the arrests of five people from the Taylorsville, Louisville and Hodgenville area.

    For about a month, detectives had been investigating a group they believed were intending to purchase a large quantity of marijuana.

    During that time, they came to Paducah to discuss the amount of marijuana they wished to purchase, the method of transportation, and the amount of money.
