    Final sentencing

    Carol Michelle Taylor (1976) received a five-year diverted sentence July 1 in LaRue Circuit Court on a charge of failure to report change in order to receive benefits.

    According to court records, she must pay $7,827.40. Final sentencing was held.
     

  • KSP investigates murder/suicide in Greensburg

    Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Greensburg.

    KSP dispatch received a call from Green County 911 about 10:35 a.m. CST Friday.

    A caller advised there was a shooting at a residence on Ky. 218 and there were multiple victims.

    Upon arrival, investigators learned four persons had been shot.

    Detectives from Post 15 said 40-year-old Barry Moore shot and killed his ex-wife, 43-year-old Pamela Moore. The couple was divorced but still living together, according to KSP.

  • Contested will case settled

    A 2011 civil suit challenging the will of a Hodgenville woman was dismissed last month in LaRue Circuit Court after the parties reached an agreement through mediation.

    Bobby Junior Morris filed the suit against Shirley Childress, executor of his mother’s estate.

    Morris claimed Childress, of Mount Sherman, took his mother’s assets “for her own use and enjoyment and against the right and interest” of the “rightful heir.”

    Steve Jewell was ordered to serve 30 days in jail for contempt July 1 in LaRue Circuit Court. He was credited for time served.
     
    Guilty plea
    Roberto C. Gonzalez (1963) pleaded guilty July 1 in LaRue Circuit Court to unlawful possession of meth precursor; complicity, possession of controlled substance, first-degree meth; and complicity, buy or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to five years, three years and 12 months respectively and fined $415. Final sentencing held.

  • Teen charged with trafficking

    A 17-year-old boy was charged June 21 with trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia by Hodgenville City Police.

    The teenager was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop by Officer Brandon Casey about 1:15 a.m., according to Police Chief Steve Johnson.

    The officer found marijuana and scales in the vehicle, said Johnson.

    The charges are misdemeanors and will be resolved in Juvenile Court. The teen was released to his parent.
