A Louisville man has been charged with second-degree forgery, second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument and theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
Derrick (AKA Derek) Saunders, 27, allegedly attempted to cash a forged payroll check on the account of Sunrise Manor Nursing Home last September.
According to Chief Deputy Russell McCoy, Saunders showed his driver’s license as proof of identity when he cashed the forged check at a local convenience store in the amount of $384.12.

 George Lollis was known as a man who loved nothing more than spending time with nature. Described as a loner, he was interested in planting gardens and living an eco-friendly life on his farm in New Hope.

“(George) was a person who didn’t fit a description,” George’s sister, Eleanor Lollis-Rose, said. “He was more comfortable being out of the mainstream.”

Several people were indicted April 16 by a LaRue County grand jury.
They are:
Johnny Wood (1951) of Upton was indicted on one count of manufacturing methamphetamine and complicity; two counts of possession of a controlled substance and complicity; possession of drug paraphernalia and complicity; and possession of prescription not in a proper container and complicity.
The alleged offenses occurred March 29. He is accused of acting alone or in concert with Coleman Ferriss.
