 • Charles Edward Brothers, 36, of New Haven, was sentenced to three years in prison for one count of complicity to first-degree possession of a controlled substance, five years in prison for one count of intent to manufacture and 12 months in jail for complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia. He was granted probation for a period of five years following set conditions including good behavior, serve six days in jail and report to a probation officer as directed. Brothers possessed methamphetamine, had intent to manufacture it and possessed drug paraphernalia.

 Several people were indicted Nov. 19 by a LaRue County grand jury.

A Vine Grove man charged with leading a Hodgenville police officer on a fatal vehicle pursuit was indicted Monday with a charge of wanton murder.

Jason L. Avis, 29, originally was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree fleeing or evading police when Kentucky State Police arrested him Sept. 16.

In addition to those charges, the LaRue County grand jury indicted him on charges of wanton murder, leaving the scene of an accident and first-degree persistent felony offense.

   A Hodgenville man was indicted in October by a LaRue County grand jury on a charge of first-degree criminal abuse of a baby.

  Charles Anthony Haire, 24, is accused of causing serious physical injury to a person under age 12 and subjecting the child to torture, cruel confinement or cruel punishment between Sept. 22 and 24.

  According to Kentucky State Police, a family member reported possible child abuse of a 1-year-old to an officer at Post 4 in Elizabethtown.
