 Chick-fil-a donated 130 chicken sandwiches to the Warm Blessings Soup Kitchen. The program often serves meals to 70 or more patrons weekdays at 5:30 p.m. at the kitchen. Additionally, each Monday and Thursday volunteers deliver meals to 31 seniors who have mobility problems, no longer drive and are shut in.  Unemployment rates fell in 108 Kentucky counties between September 2011 and September 2012, while 12 county rates increased, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. 

LaRue County’s rate fell to 6.7 percent in September from 7.2 percent in August. In September 2011, the rate was 7.9 percent.

Of a 6,829 civilian work force, 457 were unemployed.

 Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, a part of KentuckyOne Health, broke ground Oct. 2 on a $7.8 million medical office building dedicated to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, who founded the hospital in 1951. When finished, the SCN Medical Office Building will be a two-story structure that contains about 32,000 square feet.

Tentative plans call for locating the Flaget Center for Orthopedics on the first floor, along with outpatient rehabilitation services. The top floor will house physician offices.
