    Mel’s Tire and Repair Service is located on 626 South Lincoln Boulevard in Hodgenville. The business sells new and used tires. They also offer a wrecker service, welding services and field or road service for trucks, tractors and combines.

    David Street’s Tire and Towing is located at 10958 South Dixie Highway in Sonora. The store offers a wide variety of products and services including new and used tires, batteries, roadside assistance, tire disposal, 24/7 towing services and more. Their hours are Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Those looking for a quiet country stay don’t have to look any further than a vacation home that is located in northern LaRue County.

    Countryside Getaway is a vacation home that is located on 50 Trumbo Road in Hodgenville. The three bedroom, two full bathroom vacation home can sleep up to 10 people and it includes a front porch, deck, screened gazebo, BBQ grill, fire pit, bicycles, corn hole games, horseshoes and several other amenities and games for people of all ages.

    When Tiffany Rucker sells flowers or some other of the hundreds of gifts at Geneva’s Florist and Gift Shop, she’s providing the customer with more than just the item.

    “Whether it’s for a birthday, wedding, prom, or get-well-soon wish, it’s an occasion, an opportunity, for them to cheer someone up and make them feel better,” said Rucker, whose business is located at 106 North Greensburg Street in Hodgenville.

    One Sonora family is working to provide local farmers and residents a one stop shop for all their farm supply needs.

    Sonora Farm Supply, located at 189 Maple Street in Sonora, opened in May of 2011. “We’re passionate about agriculture and we’re a farming family,” said Ashley Gardner, store manager, “Sonora needed a feed store.” The nearest farm supply stores are more than ten miles from Sonora.

    A LaRue County man has flourished with his plumbing business by simply taking care of his customers and providing them with a quality service throughout the years.

    Donnie Hornback of LaRue County created Hornback Plumbing in 2005 after working for Knight’s Mechanical in Elizabethtown for five years as a plumber.

  • Konsei makes $2.9 million purchase

    The former Clayton Homes building in the LaRue County Industrial Park was recently purchased by Konsai USA for $2,900,000.

    According to the deed, the building and 27 acres was sold to Konsei by Terry Hinton, Katherine Hinton, Gary Hinton and Pamela Hinton of Elizabethtown.

  • Former Shopko building remains vacant

    Rumors are still circulating about a possible buyer of the former Shopko building located on West Main Street in Hodgenville.

    LaRue County Community and Economic Director Bob Sims said that a retail client had a purchase contract on the former Shopko property dating back to August 2015. However, he said the sale did not close and that the property is still available. The name of the retail company with the purchase contract was not released by Sims.
